NEW – Garden Studio
£50 (£30 for those charities in tune with the church’s own aims) per 2 hr session. 6 x 4.5m. Our new space, as of February 2023 is our Cedar clad, spacious garden studio, which offers beautiful views into our community quiet garden. Entry is via a wide door, suitable for wheelchair users, and there are large patio doors, opening onto a small exterior decked area. The studio is well insulated and has an air source heat pump powered heating and cooling for a perfect temperature all year round. It boasts integrated Bluetooth audio, connections for audio and HDMI, a 53-inch flat screen TV and Facebook portal for hybrid meetings (Zoom / Whatsapp / Messenger). The studio has excellent Wi-Fi facilities and a sink and kettle for simple refreshments. The garden itself is served by an accessible WC and is accessed via a ramp at the rear of the church. The garden studios comfortably accommodates 20-25 people in either a circle, or lecture-style seating arrangement, or tables are available for a more conference style.
The View
The log cabin looks over our beautiful community garden, complete with a log cabin, summer house and seating areas. Although so convenient for York, being behind the church makes this a secluded and quiet space.
Circular Seating
Setout in a circular meeting format, then the space happily accommodates around 21 chairs.
Theatre Style
Set out in a more theatre or presentation style, again, 20-30 seats can be accommodated. This allows the use of the 53-inch monitor for presentations or hybrid meetings.
Facilities for Catering
The studio has hot and cold water and a kettle for simple catering. The church itself possesses a kitchen which can also be booked, and we recommend ‘Tea on the Green’ which are local caterers who can offer refreshments. There is also a fish and chip shop a hundred yards up the road, a local sandwich shop, and a Morrisons a few hundred yards along Front street.
Creative
In addition to the above layouts we also have tables available for a more creative or conferencing atmosphere.
RETREAT GARDEN – EXCLUSIVE USE
Should exclusive use of the whole retreat garden be required, for away days, retreat or training days, with additional access to the Log Cabin and Summerhouse, then this can be arranged at certain times, although we seek to maintain community access where possible, so this may not always be viable. Prices from an additional £62.50 per half day, plus a further £36.30 for an additional half day. Please enquire.
